Embroidery is the most premium way to put your logo on apparel. Stitched thread holds color, texture, and brand presence in a way that ink and transfers can't replicate. At Utah Shirt Shop, we run commercial multi-head embroidery machines designed to handle hats, polos, jackets, beanies, bags, and corporate uniforms at any volume — from 6 pieces to 600+.
Every new logo goes through our in-house digitizing process. Our digitizers don't just trace your art — they translate it into stitch paths optimized for the specific fabric and product. A 3D puff hat needs different underlay and stitch density than a flat-stitched performance polo. We dial that in correctly so your logo looks crisp, sits flat, and doesn't pucker, sag, or distort.
Color matching is taken seriously. We carry a deep library of premium polyester embroidery thread and match colors to PMS, hex, or physical samples. For first-time logos we run a sew-out sample on the actual blank, photograph it under good light, and email it for approval before production starts.
We embroider for every kind of Northern Utah customer — real estate offices in Bountiful, construction companies in Ogden, churches in Layton, sports teams across Davis County, school staff polos in Farmington, restaurant uniforms in Salt Lake City, and family-name beanies for personal gifts. Every order gets the same level of attention.
From a dozen tees to a full team order, our Layton crew handles every kind of custom embroidery project in-house.

How it works
OUR EMBROIDERY PROCESS
1
1. Send Logo and Choose Blanks
Email or upload your logo with the apparel style, color, and size breakdown. We confirm placement options (left chest, sleeve, back, hat front, side, etc.).
2
2. Custom Digitizing
Our digitizers convert your logo into a stitch file optimized for the fabric. You get a sew-out preview to approve before production.
3
3. Sample Sew-Out (For New Logos)
For first-time orders, we sew the logo on the actual blank and photograph the result. You approve thread colors and density before we run the full order.
4
4. Production Run
Hats, polos, and jackets are loaded onto our multi-head machines. Every piece is stitched, trimmed, and inspected for quality.
5
5. Final QC and Delivery
We trim every loose thread, inspect each piece, and box your order by size. Pick up in Layton or arrange local Northern Utah delivery.

Frequently asked
EMBROIDERY FAQ
Answers to common embroidery questions in Northern Utah
For first-time customers, basic digitizing is included with your order. For complex or oversized logos requiring extra digitizing time, we may charge a small one-time fee — quoted upfront before any work starts. Once digitized, the file is saved and reused for free on all future orders.
Yes, we embroider customer-supplied garments. We just ask that the apparel is new, clean, and made of an embroiderable fabric (no super stretchy or thin performance fabrics). We'll review what you bring and confirm before stitching.
Standard left-chest logos are about 3.5"-4" wide. Hats top out around 2.25" tall. Full-back jacket designs can be up to 12" wide. Larger designs require more stitches, which affects pricing — we'll quote based on your specific design and placement.
Embroidery handles unlimited colors well — color count doesn't change the price the way it does in screen printing. Stitch count is the main pricing factor, so a 6-color logo costs the same as a 2-color logo of the same size.
Yes — we offer per-piece personalization for names, titles, and numbers. Common on staff polos, sports jerseys, and family event apparel. There is a small per-name charge added to the base embroidery price.
Standard turnaround is 7-10 business days from approval. Small orders (under 24 pieces, no digitizing required) can sometimes complete in 3-5 days. Rush options are available for events and tight deadlines.
